Poppies 14 - 18 at Hereford Cathedral

'Weeping Window' Hereford Cathedral 2018
"The cascade of thousands of individual ceramic poppies are appearing at Hereford Cathedral from 14 March 2018 until 29 April 2018 as part of the final year of 14-18 NOW’s UK-wide tour of the iconic poppies.
The presentations by 14-18 NOW, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary, give people across the UK the chance to experience the impact of the ceramic poppy sculptures in a range of places of particular First World War resonance.
Weeping Window is from the installation ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’ – poppies and original concept by artist Paul Cummins and installation designed by Tom Piper – by Paul Cummins Ceramics Limited In conjunction with Historic Royal Palaces, originally at HM Tower of London 2014."
My wife and I went to see this exhibition on Thursday 26th April. We had seen the original display of ceramic poppies, at the Tower of London, on TV in 2014. That of course was very impressive. Although the Hereford Cathedral display 'Weeping Window' is not on such a grand scale as the one at the Tower of London, it is entirely right for the setting and conveys the same air of pathos and human sacrifice as did the original.
Here are a few photos that I took, of the display, the Cathedral itself and of Hereford highlights -
